PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus of which the image display apparatus body can be stably and smoothly rotated in spite of a large displacement between a centroid of the image display apparatus body and the center of rotation of a turntable having the image display apparatus body placed thereon and the flexibility of design can be improved. SOLUTION: A turntable 7 is rotatably provided on a fixed base 6, and the image display apparatus body is placed on the turntable 7. Rotation of the turntable 7 is controlled by controlling the drive of a motor 12. The turntable 7 is disposed at the back of the image display apparatus body, so that the center of rotation of the turntable 7 is located back off the centroid of the image display apparatus body. A bottom plate 5 to which the fixed base 6 is fixed includes rise control holding plates 25, 26, and 27 incorporating rollers 24 which are brought into contact with an upper face of an outer peripheral part of the turntable 7 and are freely rotated in accordance with rotation of the turntable 7.
