The present invention aims to improve characteristics of a lead acid storage battery, particularly to improve short-time discharge output after a charge/discharge cycle with large charge/discharge depth. Disclosed is an electrode for lead acid storage batteries, which is composed of an electrode active material layer and a collector. The electrode for lead acid storage batteries is characterized in that the electrode active material layer includes a layer composed of spherical composite particles containing a porous carbonaceous material. It is preferable that the spherical composite particles also contain a lead-containing material, and that the electrode active material layer also includes a layer composed of a lead-containing material. |
