The tool has a pair of disk-shaped joining elements (3, 3') with lateral surfaces (8, 8'), respectively. The elements are rotatably mounted around a horizontally running rotational axis (4) and another horizontally running rotational axis in a joining process. The lateral surfaces exhibit a contour, and/or the rotation axes eccentrically run towards a horizontal axis (10) and another horizontal axis of the joining elements. The contour is provided as a toothed wheel with a tooth. Components (1, 2) e.g. belt strap and web strip, to be joined are made of different or same kinds of materials. An independent claim is also included for a method for production-orientated joining of two components.
