A lubricator for a shuttle of a sewing machine and the sewing machine comprise an adjust screw and a stopper. The adjust screw is moved when rotated. The adjust screw is used to regulate the amount of the lubricating oil supplied to a shuttle mechanism by changing the resistance of a flow passage for supplying a lubricant. The stopper restricts the movement range of the adjust screw. A worker can rotate the adjust screw only within the movement range restricted by the stopper. The amount of the lubricating oil supplied to the shuttle mechanism can be regulated only within a proper range. Consequently, the lubricating device for a shuttle of a sewing machine and the sewing machine prevent the amount of the lubricating oil from being excessively increased by the erroneous operation of the worker.
