<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the temperature of an area where temperature is high in the circumferential direction of a fixing rotating body. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 100 includes an exciting coil 110 that generates a magnetic field H, a fixing belt 102 having a heat generating layer 132 that generates heat by an electromagnetic induction action of the magnetic field H, a pressurizing roll 104, a heating element 118 that is arranged in contact with an inner side of the fixing belt 102 to be opposed to the exciting coil 110 and that heats the fixing belt 102, and a temperature sensor 124 that is located within a cutout portion 120 formed in the heating element 118. Since the temperature sensor 124 detects the temperature of an area opposed to the exciting coil 110 inside the fixing belt 102, it can accurately detect the temperature of the area where temperature is high in the circumferential direction of the fixing belt 102. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
