PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device capable of objectively and visually performing a focus adjustment for a monitoring camera or the like and of being reduced in the size and weight, thereby shortening a period of time for the focal adjustment. SOLUTION: The focus adjustment device 1 includes: a video signal input section 2 that inputs a video signal transmitted from the surveillance camera 12 or the like; a filter circuit section 3 having an HPF 3a that extracts a high frequency component from a video signal transmitted from the video signal input section 2, a rectifying circuit 3b, and an LPF 3c that smoothes the high frequency component and extracts the DC voltage corresponding to a focusing degree; and a control section 6 having an ADC 6a that digitally quantizes the DC voltage, and an arithmetic processing part 6b that computes a focusing degree based on the digital signal of the DC voltage; and a video signal output section 8 that outputs various signals to an arbitrary display device 9 such as a liquid crystal monitor.
