<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ribbon cassette which reduces occurrence of jam of an ink ribbon even if it is used repeatedly while circulating, and to provide a printer using this ribbon cassette. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The both C-shaped open ends of a drive gear holder 10 are formed, respectively, as guide ribs 10a and 10b. The guide ribs 10a and 10b are formed, respectively, on the upstream side and the downstream side in the feeding direction of an ink ribbon excepting the meshing portion of drive gears 23a and 23b in order to guide conveyance of the ink ribbon.
