PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption when receiving a frame that is less possible to be successfully received, of radio communication equipment which is compliant to the radio LAN communication standard IEEE802.11 and is used for a radio communication system for performing communications between a master station and terminals. SOLUTION: The radio communication equipment comprises: a header analysis section 206 for reading from a reception signal a parameter indicating the form of a digital signal included in the reception signal; a reception quality measuring section 207 for measuring reception quality of the reception signal; and a start/stop control section 208 for controlling start and stop of each of reception sections. The start/stop control section includes a function for stopping a receiving operation partially or entirely for a period corresponding to a frame length extracted from the parameter read by the header analysis section when the reception quality near the head of the reception signal is inferior to a predetermined threshold.
