PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of suppressing temperature rise in a container in opening a door, and shortening a freezing speed while securing storage quality of stored food. SOLUTION: As this refrigerator comprises a refrigerator body 2 having a freezing chamber 3 as a heat insulated storage chamber, the doors 23, 24 for taking in and out food into the freezing chamber 3, an upper container 27 and a lower container 28 receiving food, and a cold storage material 29 placed in the upper container 27, the temperature rise in the lower container 28 and the temperature rise in the upper container 27 can be minimized even when the door 24 is opened and the air in a living room flows into the lower container 28, and the food 31 can be directly cooled by the cold storage material 29.
