An endoscope system is provided with projectors (12, 13) that project a video image indicative of a video image taken by an endoscope device inserted into at least a part of the body cavity of a patient and a dome type screen (11) that has a shape of a projecting surface (11a) to direct a concave surface toward an operator and an assistant, wherein the video image light is projected to the projecting surface (11a). The dome type screen (11) has a first axis defined as the axis that passes through the center of an aperture surface and is vertical to the aperture surface, the center of the projecting surface defined as the point where the first axis and the projecting surface (11a) intersect, a second axis defined as the axis that joins the center of the projecting surface to a frame portion of the projecting surface (11a), and a third axis defined as a tangent of the frame portion of the projecting surface (11a), wherein an angle defined between the first and third axes is the one that makes it possible to observe the entire video image from a first viewing position and an angle defined between the first and second axes is the one that makes it possible to observe the center of the projecting surface from a second viewing position.
