Provided is a continuously variable transmission that transmits the rotational driving force of one pulley to another pulley by means of a driving force transmission means wrapped around the two pulleys, both of which have an adjustable pulley groove width. The continuously variable transmission comprises: parts to be meshed with, provided on the side of the driving force transmission means that is wrapped around one pulley; and movable meshing parts provided on the axial part of one pulley so as to be able to move forward and backward in the radial direction of the axial part, and, when the gear ratio is at the maximum and/or when the gear ratio is at the minimum, capable of moving forward and meshing with the parts to be meshed with.
