PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed article that is excellent in productivity and cost and has high adhesion between a foamed layer and a substrate, to provide a process for producing the foamed article and to provide a decomposing foamable compound for use in the production of the foamed article. SOLUTION: A foamed article 1 is composed of a foamed layer 20 formed by foaming a foamable composition comprising a decomposing foamable compound having a hydroxyl group and a decomposing foamable functional group that decomposes and eliminates one or more kinds of low boiling point volatile substances by reacting with an acid or a base and a substrate 10 which are adhesively bonded through an anchor layer 30 comprising a crosslinkable compound having a functional group reactive with a hydroxyl group that the decomposing foamable compound has. The process for producing the foamed article comprises an anchor layer-forming step of forming the anchor layer 30 on the substrate 10, a foamable layer-forming step of forming a foamable layer on the anchor layer 30 and a foaming step of foaming the foamable layer to produce the foamed layer 20.
