<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for a controller, allowing initial setting as it is, and allowing control of a motor when erroneous wiring (erroneous connection) can be permitted in the motor and/or a potentiometer or between the motor and the potentiometer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After detecting a resistance value of the potentiometer when a change of the resistance value of the potentiometer stops in a state that the motor is reversely driven as a first reference resistance value, a resistance value of the potentiometer when a change of the resistance value of the potentiometer stops in a state that the motor is normally driven is detected as a second reference resistance value, and the first and second reference resistance values are set as references (a 0% resistance value and a 100% resistance value) of rotation angle control of the motor according to a rotational direction of the motor.
