<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which is excellent in thermal stability and preservation stability in light emission, has long element service life and is easily manufactured, and to provide a display medium using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element includes: a pair of electrodes each consisting of an anode and a cathode, at least either of which is transparent or semi-transparent; and one or more organic compound layers sandwiched by the pair of electrodes and containing at least one charge transporting polyester composed of a repetitive unit in which at least one layer includes a diaryldiamine of a specific structure as a partial structure.
