The invention relates to an optoelectronic subassembly that comprises, on the one side, a light wave guide having an end and, on the other side and opposite an end of said wave guide, a light source vertically adjacent to a photodetector. In particular embodiments, the wave guide is a multiple-core optical fibre, the light source is a vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) adapted for a light intensity per unit of surface area of the end of the wave guide, which is substantially identical in a central circle of the wave guide end and in the rest of said wave guide end, e.g. a VCSEL laser with oxide confinement, and the photodetector is a photodiode with a large surface area. |
