<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air tool improving the variable speed operability of an air motor by facilitating the regulation of the quantity of compressed air fed to the air motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An air driver (the air tool) 1 has: an air motor 3 driven with compressed air; a control valve 6 to control the quantity of compressed air to be fed to the air motor 3; and a trigger 14 to operate the control valve 6. The control valve 6 is composed of an on/off valve 10 to be operated by the leverage and a variable speed valve 9. The on/off valve 10 and the variable speed valve 9 are arranged in series in an air flow passage. The changing rate of the flow passage area of the speed variable valve 9 relative to the operation stroke of the trigger 14 is set smaller than that of the on/off valve 10, and the speed variable valve 9 is opened after the on/off valve 10 is opened by the operation of the trigger 14.
