PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent splashing objects of a metal constituent from reaching an internal space even when the splashing objects of the metal constituent by splash are generated in jointing a base to a lid. SOLUTION: A body housing 11 of an oscillator 1 is composed of: a base 4 for mounting a quartz vibration piece 3 and an IC chip 2 thereon; and a lid 5 jointed to the base 4 to form the internal space 12, and airtightly sealing the quartz vibration piece 3 and the IC chip 2 in the internal space 12. On a joint surface 51 of the lid 5 to the base 4, outer peripheral corner parts 53 each having a curvature radius R1 are formed in its outer periphery 52. On a joint surface 71 of a contact part (metal ring 7) contacting the lid 5 in jointing the base 4 to the lid 5, inner peripheral corner parts 73 facing the internal space 12 and each having a curvature radius R2 are formed in its inner periphery 72. The curvature radius R1 of the outer peripheral corner part 53 of the lid 5 is smaller than the curvature radius R2 of the inner peripheral corner part 73 of the metal ring 7.
