<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system and an image formation system with which the occurrence of error due to delay of the completion of start of a processing part can be suppressed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An information processing system 10 includes an HDD 36, a USB memory 51, a server 52, a main controller 31 and a PIC 41. The HDD 36 and the USB memory 51 can supply a prescribed start program without passing a network line The server 52 can supply a start program through the network line. The main controller 31 acquires a start program from selected one of the HDD 36, the USB memory 51, and the server 52. The PIC 41 executes automatic switching processing for switching to a power-saving mode in the case of the absence of prohibitive factors for a prescribed time in a normal power mode.
