<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a composite semi-permeable membrane having high solute removability, high water permeability, and high durability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes the step A of forming a polyamide separating function layer by an interfacial polycondensation of a multifunctional amine and multifunctional acid halide on a microporous support membrane, the step B of allowing the polyamide separating function layer to contact hydrazine to produce hydrazide, and the step C of allowing hydrazide to contact with and react with a reagent to produce acid azide.
