METHOD OF TREATING GYPSUM BOARD WASTE MATERIAL AND CEMENT

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating gypsum board waste material by which recycled gypsum is easily obtained in a short period of time, the recycled gypsum having a satisfactorily reduced content of paper and surfactant and therefore capable of being used so as to be substituted into a gypsum component of cement in a high proportion. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of treating gypsum board waste material comprises: a process (A) of preparing crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material; a process (B) of washing the crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material by mixing the crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material and water; a process (C) of recovering the crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material from a mixture of the crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material and water; a process (D) of washing the crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material with alcohol by mixing the recovered crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material and alcohol; and a process (E) of recovering gypsum from the mixture of the crushed bodies of the gypsum board waste material and alcohol.
