摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery negative electrode active material and a lithium secondary battery, excellent in high input characteristics desired for power storage, and in use of an electric tool, a hybrid electric vehicle, or the like, as well as a manufacturing method of the lithium secondary battery negative electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium secondary battery negative electrode active material is composed of a carbon material using at least one of either petroleum-based heavy oil and coal-based heavy oil as a raw material, and is manufactured with a distance d<SB>002</SB>between the crystal planes measured by X-ray diffraction to be 0.340 nm or larger, the crystallite size Lc (110) in the direction of the C axis to be 10 nm or smaller, the intensity ratio (R=I<SB>1,360</SB>/I<SB>1,580</SB>) of the diffraction peak near 1,360 cm<SP>-1</SP>to the diffraction peak near 1,580 cm<SP>-1</SP>measured by the Raman spectroscopy to be in the range of 0.8 to 1.2, the total pore volume on the surface to be 0.02 cc/g or more, the volume of pores of 10 nm or smaller to be in the range of 0.01 cc/g to 0.1 cc/g, and the pore areas to be 50 m<SP>2</SP>/g or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
