PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning device in which the deflection of an optical beam pitch is suppressed by preventing the deterioration in the beam diameter due to the influence of the built-in error of a light source, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the optical scanner. SOLUTION: The optical scanning device has: a plurality of converging lenses 104a and 104b that converge, at least in a sub-scanning direction, a plurality of light beams that have been emitted from a plurality of light sources 101a and 101b so as to be substantially parallel to one another; a plurality of supporting members 108a and 108b, each of the supporting members supports a corresponding one of the converging lenses 104a and 104b; an optical deflector 105 that deflects the respective light beams in a main-scanning direction; and a housing 113 that supports the supporting members 108a and 108b, wherein the optical scanning device being configured so as to cause the light beams that are positioned apart from one another in the sub-scanning direction to be incident onto the optical deflector 105, wherein the optical scanning device has the plurality of converging lenses 104a and 104b and the supporting members 108a and 108b corresponding to the plurality of light beams, respectively, and the converging lenses 104a and 104b are arranged so as to be out of alignment with one another in the main-scanning direction and are arranged in a row in the sub-scanning direction in such a manner that no converging lens interferes with supporting members 108a and 108b that support other converging lenses.
