PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic lens and a method for manufacturing an ophthalmic lens, the lens comprising as a principal component, a silicon-containing monomer having excellent characteristics with respect to hydrophilicity and water retention property of a base surface. SOLUTION: The lens has a structure of interpenetrate networking on the surface, the structure comprising grafted polymer chains of hydrophilic monomers and a hydrophilic polymer disposed among the grafted polymer chains.
