PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring the amount of displacement of a truck of a superconducting magnetic levitated vehicle, which measures the amount of the displacement of the superconductive magnet of a superconducting magnetic levitated vehicle, and to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: In the method of measuring the amount of displacement of the superconducting magnetic levitated vehicle, search coils 3, 6, 4 and 7 are arranged behind both flanks 2 and 5 of a guide way 1 of a superconducting magnetic levitation railway, and the induced voltage detected in the above search coils 3, 6, 4 and 7 by the superconductive magnet 9 mounted on the superconducting magnetic levitated vehicle 8 passing the above guide way 1 is calculated with a processor 11, and based on the calculated value in this processor 11, the amount of the displacement of the superconductive magnet 9 of the superconducting magnetic levitated vehicle 8 is measured.
