PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display medium and an image-forming method excellent in the practical utility such as the capability of forming a color image by photoirradiation and that of rewriting an image and besides the excellency in the repeat durability. SOLUTION: The photochromic composition contains a photochromic compound expressed by general formula (I) and a compound with a long chain having carbon of the number of 12 or more. (In the formula, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently selected from a 12C or more alkyl group, an alkanoyloxymethyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an alkoxycarbonylalkyl group, a carboxyalkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group or an alkylphenyl group; and R<SB>3</SB>through R<SB>14</SB>are each independently hydrogen or a substituent).
