PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner to be fixed only in an objective position for printing of a recording medium even when the toner is fixed by a fixing roller giving a conveyance velocity of 280 mm/sec or more to a recording medium, avoiding problems that a fused toner remains on the fixing roller and is not fixed in an area out of the objective position for printing, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the toner. SOLUTION: The toner is an electrophotographic pulverized toner having a weight average particle diameter of 3.5 to 10μm and containing at least a colorant, a binder resin and a release agent, obtained through steps of melting and kneading. The release agent contains one or more kinds of cane sugar esters in which one or more hydroxyl groups of cane sugar are substituted by fatty acids. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
