<p>Disclosed is a display device having a simple structure, which can be driven at low voltage. The display device enables high-speed switching between a black display and a white display. Specifically disclosed is a display device which is characterized by comprising, between opposite electrodes, an electrolyte containing a compound represented by the general formula (1) and a metal salt compound, and a white scattering material. The display device is also characterized in that a compound represented by the general formula (A) or a compound represented by the general formula (B) is fixed to at least one of the opposite electrodes, and a black or white display is obtained by applying a voltage between the opposite electrodes.</p> |
