The appliance has electric contacts provided at a front side of a plug housing of an electrical plug (3). A horizontally running electrical cable (5) is guided through a cable sleeve (13) till to the plug housing, and a liquid reaches to the cable sleeve along the cable. A water discharging element (15) is attached to the cable sleeve, where the water discharging element deflects the electric contacts of the plug housing from the liquid running along the cable. The water discharging element is arranged circularly around the cable.
