<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst collection device and method for a fuel cell, which can collect platinum catalyst spilt from an air electrode catalyst layer of a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst collection device for a fuel cell has a filtering means capable of collecting the platinum catalyst spilt from an electrode catalyst of an air electrode of a fuel cell stack at a designated position among an air circulation loops of the fuel cell stack. The filtering means is arranged on an air supply line only for supplying air to the air electrode of the fuel cell stack, or is arranged on an air discharge line only for discharging reaction air from the air electrode, or is arranged on all of the air supply line and the air discharge line.
