<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal storage system capable of effectively storing electric energy as usable multipurpose thermal energy in a large amount. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal storage system includes an accumulator 11, an electric hot water boiler 16 connected with the accumulator 11 by a first circulating passage 18 and generating hot water by electric heating, and a first circulation pump 18P for circulating the hot water.
