PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to lie with his or her face downward on a mattress itself without using a pillow when lying with his or her face downward. SOLUTION: A section of this mattress with which the face comes into contact when a person lies with his or her face downward is separated, and a recess section 2 is formed. Meanwhile, by the separated piece of the mattress which has been separated, a fitting element 3 which can freely be put in/taken out from the recess section 2 is formed, and also, the fitting element is divided into two, 3a and 3b. By this constitution, only the fitting element 3a is inserted in the recess section 2 of the mattress, and a space 4 is formed between the insertion end of the fitting element 3a and the mattress 1.
