[Class 132 (ii)] A handle for a cricket bat, hockey stick, or other playing implement comprises two members a, formed of four slips of rattan cane glued to gether, and an indiarubber cushioning strip c having indiarubber thickening portions d and e cemented theretc and housed in recesses formed in the members a. Perforations f are formed in one or both of the portions d, e. The cushioning strip c may be coated on one or both sides with canvas or may be of cork or cork composition. The thickening portions d and e may be obtained by moulding and depressions are formed therein The recesses in the members a may be formed by cutting away the cane slips or by affixing additional cane strips.</p> |
