PURPOSE: A liquid state material application method is provided to reduce leakage of developing agent at upstream in moving direction of the developing agent holding body surface relative to position contacting a developing agent removing member and a developing agent holding body. CONSTITUTION: A liquid material coating method comprises the steps of: moving a nozzle relative to a frame to coat the liquid material onto the frame at same time of spraying the liquid and clouted liquid material from the nozzle, the frame being provided with a developing agent removing member for removing developing agent on the developing agent holding body surface and being provided with a developing agent storing section for removed developing agent by the developing agent removing member, wherein provided are process of fixing the developing agent removing member on the frame(S2,S3); and inserting the nozzle into a gap between the frame and the developing agent removing member, spraying the liquid material constituting a sealing member for sealing the gap(S4), and drawing out the nozzle from the gap along edge at end in length direction of the developing agent removing member of the developing agent storing member.
