<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging roll with which occurrence of an image streak on a mark of contact with the charging roll is prevented when used in a direct current charge type electrophotographic apparatus, and with which toner consumption is not increased when used in high temperature and humidity environment. <P>SOLUTION: The charging roll 1 for the electrophotographic apparatus includes a conductive elastic layer 3, a softener migration preventing layer 4, a resistance adjusting layer 5, and a protective layer 6 along an outer circumference of a shaft 2.
