SOLUTION: Particle surfaces are modified by allowing an aromatic acid halide having an acid anhydride group to react with -OH, -NH and -NH2groups present on the surfaces of inorganic nitride particles. In particular, diamine used for the surface treatment is preferably an aromatic diamine. A resin molding material having high thermal conductivity is obtained by incorporating inorganic nitride particles into a thermosetting resin and curing together with the diamine compound to form a chemical bond between the inorganic nitride particles and the thermosetting resin.
