<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly sensitive superconducting quantum interference element. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Superconductor electrodes 1 and 2 are connected with a two-dimensional electron gas 3 having a region 5 opened for capturing a magnetic flux, thereby a junction of the superconductor, the two-dimensional electron gas and the superconductor can be used as the highly sensitive superconducting quantum interference element. In addition, it includes a gate electrode 4. Thus, a critical current value I<SB>C</SB>and a resistance value R<SB>N</SB>of the superconducting quantum interference element can be varied.
