PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To straighten a flexible portion which is in a bent state by operating interlockingly with a movement of a curving portion operated to bend in an insertion portion of an endoscope. SOLUTION: A first bending pulley 21 provided to bend the curving portion 2b of the insertion portion 2 is bent by operating a first operating knob 26. The distal end portion of a traction operation wire 32 constituting a flexible portion straightening means 30 is fixed to a connecting ring 13 between the curving portion 2b and the flexible portion 2a. The traction operation wire 32 is provided to extend inside a body operating part 1 and is wound around a straightening pulley 31 connected to an external shaft 25 for driving to rotate the first bending pulley 21. The traction operation wire 32 has an extra length between the fixing part and the winding part. The flexible portion 2a is bent when the straightening pulley 31 rotates during the rotations of the first bending pulley 21, and the traction operation wire 32 is wound.
