[Class 87 (ii)] Apparatus for pasting accumulator grids comprises also a device for compressing the material in the grids, the device being perforated to allow the passage of surplus material. The device may consist of a spring-pressed perforated plate s as shown in Figs. 2 and 5. Surplus material passing through the holes in the plate collects in a trough m from which it is removed by a reciprocating doctor a. A second perforated plate may be provided to press on the lower side of the grid. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the device is in the form of a perforated roller w within which is a rotating worm n to. remove the surplus material passing through the roller. |
