Disclosed is a fuel cell provided with: a membrane electrode assembly (2) having an electrolyte membrane, a plurality of fuel electrodes arranged on one side of the electrolyte membrane, and a plurality of air electrodes arranged on the other side of the electrolyte membrane so as to face the fuel electrodes; and an insulating substrate (F) that sandwiches the membrane electrode assembly (2). The insulating substrate (F) is characterized by being provided with, on top of an insulating film (BF), a current collector (40) that electrically connects the pairs of fuel electrodes and air electrodes of the membrane electrode assembly in series, and a temperature detector (50) that detects the temperature.
