<p>The method involves supplying exhaust gas (4) to an evaporation cooler (10) over an exhaust gas collecting pipeline (8) after combustion of the gas. The gas is cooled in the cooler by spraying water droplets (14) using a spraying device (12) for reducing temperature of the gas. Concentration (Cist) of hydrogen chloride in the gas in the pipeline is detected by a sensor (36), and a neutralization fluid (42) is mixed with water droplets supplied by the spraying device when the detected concentration or an increase of the concentration per unit time extends a preset threshold value (Cmax). The neutralization fluid is an aqueous alkaline solution containing cation such as ammonia, sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium and anions such as hydroxide, bicarbonate, oxide and carbonate. An independent claim is also included for a device for cleaning hydrochloride contained exhaust gas in a waste incinerator comprising an evaporation cooler.</p> |
