<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for properly handling a memory error in a data processing system according to the error type. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A processing part 11a interrupts, on detection of a memory error of an error detection part 11d, data processing for current data to execute exception handling, and restarts, when the memory error occurs in a first area of a memory part 20, the data processing from the next data. The processing part executes, when the memory error occurs in a second area of the memory part, stops or restarts the system. The first area of the memory part includes a storage area for processing object data and a storage area for data generated during the data processing of the processing part. The second area of the memory part includes a storage area for a program executed by the processing part and a storage area for data generated during the exception handling of the processing part.
