A system for performing diversity reception, comprising: two receiver units, each receiver unit comprising an antenna and receive processing circuitry for processing signals received at the antenna and outputting a series of digital samples indicative of the received signals; and a diversity combiner linked to the receiver units for receiving the digital samples, the diversity combiner being linked to at least one of the receiver units over a data network, and configured to perform diversity combining of the signals represented by the samples.
