Heat reclaim device with self-cleaning

The recovery device (110) has a heating device (156) thermally coupled with a heat exchanger surface (126) of a heat exchanger (124) e.g. coaxial heat exchanger. A controller (144) is provided to execute a self-cleaning process of the heat exchanger, where the exchanger surface is heated for a short time during the self-cleaning process by the heating device. The heating device has a heat pump (128) e.g. Peltier element (130). The controller heats a transport medium (114) to a target temperature in a normal operation of the recovery device by the heat pump. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a cleaning device comprising a dishwasher and a cleaning chamber (2) a method for recovering heat energy from a fluid medium for application in a sewage system of a dishwasher.
