Method and system for limiting the use of a vehicle as a function of the awareness state of the user

The method involves subjecting a user of a vehicle to a sensorial perceptive test using a test interface by carrying out a starting request of an engine of the vehicle by the user and by preventing starting of the engine. A result of the perceptive test is compared with scale of risk levels relative to driving of the vehicle so as to deduce the risk levels presented by the user. The risk levels are informed to the user using a data interface, when the risk levels are present. The risk levels are associated to a usage limitation technical action of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a system for limiting usage of a vehicle based on a state of vigilance of a user of the vehicle.
