Process for producing dichloropropanol, according to which glycerol containing metal salt is subjected to a reaction with a chlorinating agent in a reaction mixture. At least a fraction obtained from the reaction mixture, which fraction contains metal salt, is subjected to a treatment comprising one or more separation operations to remove metal salt from said fraction.
