PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent instability of operation resulting from thickening of ink. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder comprises a main tank for holding ink, a recording head for ejecting ink toward a recording sheet, and an ink channel for introducing ink from the main tank to the recording head. The ink channel is provided with an ink reverse-flow means capable of returning ink in the ink channel back to the main tank.
