摘要 451,242. Illuminated traffic - guiding devices. BLASDALE, L., 92, Russell Drive, Wollaton, Nottingham. Feb. 2, 1935, No. 3452. [Class 107] [See also Group XI] A traffic-guiding device consists of a member 1, Fig. 2, of inverted channel-section which is provided with means for mounting an electric lamp or lamps 4 on it, and means for securing it on the road surface. The cables leading to the lamps are housed within the member itself. The securing means may consist of rag bolts or spikes which pass through holes 3 in the base flanges 2 or, alternatively, U-shaped bridge pieces or stirrups similarly anchored to the ground are arranged at spaced intervals. The member may be locally strengthened adjacent each lamp, the standard or holder 5 of which is formed integrally with or is secured to the member. As shown in plan in Fig. 5, a number of members may be arranged end to end to form a continuous line along the centre of a road. Adjacent the level crossing 10 larger lamps 11, lamps of different colour, or lamps mounted on taller standards are provided. In another application, curved members are assembled end to end to form the boundary of a street island, and in a further application they are assembled to form parking spaces 14 for cars, as shown in Fig. 7. The members may be made of cast metal, pressed steel, timber, glass, non-ferrous metal, or concrete. British Specification 387,807 and U.S.A. Specification 1,881,376 are referred to.
