SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SPEED OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling the speed of a vehicle are provided to help a driver safety drive by comparing an average speed and a regulation speed at a speed limit area and informing comparison result to the driver. CONSTITUTION: A system controlling the speed of a vehicle is composed of a receiver(100), a controller(200), and a display unit(300). The receiver receives a satellite signal from a global positioning system and it extracts data, which includes a running speed and mileage of the vehicle. The controller computes a prediction speed at the expected distance by taking out the mileage from the distance of the regulation speed observance region, and it compares a running speed with the prediction speed. The display unit performs a guide and a warning according to the comparison result.
