PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment material and a liquid crystal display device are provided to enable minute and beautiful display, and to exhibit high pretilt angle stably. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment material includes diamine, polyamic acid, and at least one polymer. The diamine comprises a compound represented by chemical formula 1 and a compound represented by chemical formula 2. The ratio of the compound represented by chemical formula 1 in the diamine is 0.1 ~ 50 mole%. The polyamic acid is obtained by reacting with tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. The polymer is selected from the group consisting of imidized polymer obtained by dehydrating and ring-opening the polyamic acid.
