PURPOSE: A failover/failback trigger using SIP messages in a SIP survivable configuration is provided to trigger various network components to perform a failover or failback operation based on a determined state of a SIP network by using SIP messages in a SIP survivable configuration. CONSTITUTION: A failover/failback trigger method using SIP messages in a SIP survivable configuration comprises the steps of: determining by a communication device whether or not the state of a component in a communication system is changed into a first or second state; generating a message including the information related to the determined second state of the component in the communication device; and transmitting the message to a component-related user agent(108).
